Chef’s Warehouse & Canteen. The return in 2024 of the original no-reservations casual tapas eatery is the best news ever. Central business district.
Chef’s Warehouse Tintswalo Atlantic. The spirit of the Bree Street canteen, with a full tasting set menu, at the waters edge at the foot of Chapman’s Peak. Hout Bay.
Biesmillah. For traditional a la carte Cape Malay dishes, it’s hard to beat this the most authentic of restaurants, run by Abdullah Osman and family for almost 50 years. Bokaap.
Seven Colours Eatery. Chef Nolu Dube-Cele’s joyous celebration of contemporary Xhosa cuisine. Battery Park, V&A Waterfront.
The Pizza Connection. Simply the best pizza restaurant in Cape Town, hands down. Woodstock.
Giovanni’s Deli. The best sandwiches in the city, and glorious deli items. Green Point.
Romeo and Vero’s Vegan Butcherie. The craziest vegan eatery, serving their very own mushroom based vegan meats. De Waterkant.
The Sunshine Food Company. Where the Vegan Butcherie recreates and serves exceptional plant based meats, Sunshine foods is all about the plants. Sea Point.
Honest Chocolate Café. South Africa’s first chocolate cafe, serving up all things bean-to-bar and related chocolate delights, with the best hot chocolate to be found anywhere in the country. Central business district.
Rosetta Roastery. Cape Town has amazing coffee, and this is our absolute favourite. Their mortadella sandwich is a favourite too. Central business district.
Kyoto Garden. One of the longest running Japanese restaurants in the city, with excellent sushi and an expansive Japanese whisky collection. Tamboerskloof.
Mochi Mochi. Perhaps the originators of what will become something of a mochi revolution in South Africa. Such good mochi. Central business district.
