The Choral Music Safari takes small groups into the homes of choir duos and trios to experience the heart of South Africa's rich vocal traditions.
While groups like the Soweto Gospel Choir share these evocative harmonies globally, this experience explores the tradition through two intimate home concerts. We move between worlds, typically featuring isiXhosa traditional and gospel-inspired music in one home, and the unique Cape Malay choral tradition in another.
The evening is divided into two parts: a home-cooked dinner accompanied by music, followed by a nightcap in the home of a second choir group. We work with esteemed groups such as the Guguletu Gospel Stars and the Beystars Cape Malay Choir.
Most dietary needs are catered to with advance notice.
