Nairobi Art Safari

Visiting artists, gallerists and curators in their studios, galleries and homes, exploring street art and matatu art.

Private Tour

Duration: 4 Hours

The Nairobi Art Safari is an exploration of art as it is found in galleries, public spaces, and artists' studios across the city.

On this private tour, you are introduced to galleries and artists we love, including Circle Arts, The Nairobi Contemporary Arts Institute, and the GoDown Arts Centre. We aim to meet a curator to get a sense not only of what is under their curatorship, but of the scene in general.

Public art is central to the experience, observing how the gallery moves onto the street to engage the collective consciousness. As a final element, we visit an artist in their studio for a personal engagement with their process.

This experience is best suited for:

  • Those interested in contemporary African fine art and its future.
  • Travelers seeking insider access to the scene and personal studio engagements.
  • Anyone curious about the intersection of art, community, and economic development.
