An opportunity to time travel, journeying millions of years into the past, over the course of just a single day!

Just outside of Johannesburg is the Cradle of Humankind, blessed with some of the most extraordinary paleoanthropological finds in human history. The Cradle is a Unesco World Heritage Site, rich in ways to connect to our most ancient history.

The trip leaves Joburg at 8am, to reach the Maropeng Visitors Centre in time for the 09h00 guided tour. This experience provides excellent context to the findings that made the Cradle famous.

Then we head to the Nirox Sculpture Park for a curator lead tour of the artworks, many of them referencing the human origins story, and providing a beautiful artistic perspective on our place in the cosmos.

The afternoon is dedicated to an expansive human origins exploration visiting two significant dig sites. We will spend four hours in a game viewing vehicle traveling across the incredible landscape of the Cradle deepening our understanding of the formation of the gold reef that created the Johannesburg story and pushed to the surface the finds that made the area such a significant location in our quest to travel back to our origins on earth.

It’s a very full day with plenty of enriching stories, perspectives and voices.
