Private Tour
Duration: 4 Hours
The Johannesburg Art Safari is an exploration of contemporary fine art as it is found in galleries, public spaces, and private studios across the city. This journey is designed to provide "insider access" to a scene that is rapidly reshaping the future of African art.
On this private tour, guests are introduced to a curated selection of galleries, ranging from prestigious public institutions like the Wits Art Museum to leading private spaces such as Gallery Momo, Stevenson, or Goodman. Where possible, we arrange to meet a local curator to gain insight into their specific vision and the broader Joburg art landscape.
Public art is a cornerstone of this experience. We believe in moving the gallery onto the street to engage with collective consciousness, and we bring in a specialist artist or guide for this specific public art component.
As a final, intimate element, we venture into the heart of the creative process by visiting an artist in their studio, offering a rare window into the workspaces where Johannesburg’s most compelling works are born.
"A deep dive into the creative engine of Africa's economic capital."
